카렌 카펜터, 리처드 카펜터 두 남매의 듀엣 가수 Carpenters 가 불렀는데

카렌 카펜터 여동생이 1983년 갑자기 불운에 사망함으로써 해체되었다

카렌은 보컬과 드럼, 리처드는 피아노를 담당했다.

1973년 발표한 Top of the World 와 Yesterday once More 노래는

빌보드차트 순위에 오랫 동안 기록이 되었으며 맑은 목소리가 듣는 이로 하여금

마음 편하게 해주고 가사 암송이 쉬워서 많은 사람들이 애창하고 있다.
